Bellevue, WA - December 9, 2003 - In May of 2003, Integrated Project Solutions released its free TranSDEF software that converts schedules created in P3e and P3e/c into SDEF files. SDEF, which stands for Standard Data Exchange Format, is the customized file format that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requires for submitted schedules. Upon its release, TranSDEF was immediately applauded for both its classification as freeware and its customizable options. Unfortunately, TranSDEF is not very easy to install, and not only requires that the Primavera software be installed in stand-alone mode on Borland InterBase, but also requires that the user have a fair understanding of ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity).

With the public release of Primavera's Integration API, and the many requests for TranSDEF to support SQL-Server and Oracle, Integrated Project Solutions decided that the time was right to completely revamp their SDEF conversion software. Rewriting the entire application in Java, Iproj staff members decided that not only would the new TranSDEF2 software support conversion directly from Primavera's proprietary XER format, but it would also support running in stand-alone mode without any initial setup or installation. In addition, Integrated Project Solutions, in the interest of supporting the tightly knit community of Primavera software developers and integrators, has released all of the TranSDEF2 source code under the GNU GPL (General Public License).
